One-to-One Gardening Tuition

Practical Support, Tuition and Guidance Delivered in Your Own Garden
Do you want to maintain your own garden but don't really know where to start? Have you been gardening for a while but still feel like there's a lot to learn? Perhaps you would like to know how to grow your own food successfully, develop a cut flower garden, or to understand how to garden more sustainably. We will teach you what your garden needs and how to provide it, at a pace that suits you.
Gardening is a hugely rewarding hobby known to enhance all aspects of wellbeing, and we are passionate about helping people reap those benefits from their own outdoor space. Whatever your goal, our 1-1 tuition sessions can give you the skills, knowledge and confidence to help your plants grow healthily.
How It Works
Cost
Each session is taught in a block of three hours, and is brought to you, whether that be your garden, your allotment, or a paved back yard
There are five sessions available to cover the calendar year, and these can be purchased either as an annual course, or individually as needed
A workbook will be provided for you to complete as we progress through the sessions
All of the equipment needed will be provided for use during the sessions. You are of course welcome to use your own. For those just starting out or venturing into a new aspect of gardening (for example, propagation), we have different kits available as optional purchases.
Course Outline
Below is an outline of the course aimed at somebody wishing to gain a wide breadth of skills and knowledge. The content can be tailored to your garden and current skill level, varied or focussed as needed.
Session One - Your Garden
This first session is about gaining a detailed understanding of the characteristics of your garden. We will look at the soil, the aspect, the topography, the various climates, and really get to understand the space as a whole. We will understand the impact those factors have on your space, and the plants that are growing in it (or you would like to grow in it). This session is incredibly informative and will help you implement all the skills and knowledge gained from the other four sessions.
The remaining sessions will be tailored to your space but examples of topics included are listed below:
